Phillip Island koalas
The Koala Conservation Centre ensures you’re never going to leave Phillip Island without seeing any koalas. Due to the fact that the native Phillip Island koala population is being diminished through Chlamydia, the Phillip Island Nature Park decided to build the Koala Conservation Centre. The koala proof fence which surrounds the centre ensures diseased koalas are kept out and healthy koalas (which are bred inside) are kept in. The ranger goes out in the morning to find the koalas, and signs will show the visitor where the koala is in the tree (they don’t move much after breakfast!). A treetop board walk ensures you can get quite close to the Phillip Island koalas.
